Rail Trails and Pathways Network

The Rail Trails and Pathways Network was set up in mid-2008 to provide information about establishing rail trails and pathways in New Zealand. Currently it is centred around a discussion forum for people & groups in the process of setting up walking and cycling paths especially along old rail corridors but also including pathways not on disused rail corridors.
Creating a trail can be a complicated process and we hope to help circumvent some of this by providing information from people who have set up a rail trail or pathway or are in the process of creating one. Information about legal issues, fundraising, existing rail trails, and other documentation is this sort of information we can assist with.
If you want to join this discussion forum simply click on this link.
Alternatively, if you would like to provide information about a proposed trail or talk to one of the moderators please contact Andrew or Bob using the contact details on this webpage.
